Review - Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

Alright, I am finally putting up my last review for this series and I hope it doesn't sound too harsh.

"MOCKINGJAY by Suzanne Collins was a shocking book. I had been expecting great action, and a renewal of my love for Katniss, but instead I found only disappointment. Katniss has sunk to a whole new level of pathetic and is too far gone to return. She seems lost, resigned, and hopeless, yet they keep her in misery with the whole leader of the rebellion thing. I also was mad when I discovered that Peeta had lost his memory. It made me want to scream. He was so changed that I had a very hard time liking him, especially when he tried to kill himself. For me the Series went from grand, to good, to horrible. I will not be rereading this book."

That was kind of mean I think, but I can't help but not like that book. I will be posting my new HS read soon.

Review - Lord of the Flies by William Golding

I got a request recently to write about some books I have read in high school. This is the first one.

"LORD OF THE FLIES by William Golding was a great book. It contained equal amounts of suspense, danger, violence, and power hungry kids. This book completely and thoroughly describes what would happen if a bunch of kids actually got trapped on an island. I might not want to read this book again, but I sure am glad I read it the first time."

This is the first book I read in high school and I'm glad I got the chance. I look forward to posting about the other books I have read and am reading currently.

Review - Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

After finishing The Hunger Games, the first book in this trilogy, I dug right into the next one: Catching Fire. I haven't read that many other reviews so this is completely my opinion about it.

"CATCHING FIRE by Suzanne Collins is a wonderful novel, as you get to dig deeper into Katniss and Peeta's characters and their story together. Meanwhile you also get the chance to really meet other characters newly introduced like: Finnick, Johanna, Beetee and Wiress, who become important characters in the plot. While this book has many wonderful qualities to it I felt it was a bit of a let down after THE HUNGER GAMES. President Snow isn't trustworthy and yet Katniss holds him to her word when he says that if she can tame the rebellions he will spare her family and friends. Katniss seems to be losing her touch. What happened to the girl who was sure that Peeta was plotting against her in the first book?"

The links are there for those of you who do not know those characters very well. They aren't as well known as Katniss and Peeta. I hope that you like my reviews even if you do not completely agree with them. I'll be putting up my review for Mockingjay in a few days.

Review - The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Hi! This is my first post so I'm just going to start with a review. One of my favorite books is The Hunger Games. Here's my take on it.

"THE HUNGER GAMES is an amazing book with plenty of suspense, danger, and love. Suzanne Collins is a very impressive author. This book is appropriate for all ages and children, young adults, and adults alike should be encouraged to read it. I can't wait to finish up the trilogy by reading CATCHING FIRE, and MOCKINGJAY."

In reality I've already read the entire trilogy, but I'm pretending I didn't for the review so I don't go off talking about the other books. I hope you enjoy this and I'll put up a post at least once a week.
